March 11, 2026

The Powder2Power project has been featured in the UPVD InterSections magazine, Edition No 4 (September 2025) dedicated to innovative research projects and initiatives and carried out by laboratories associated with the Université de Perpignan Via Domitia (UPVD).

The article presents the research conducted within the Powder2Power project, coordinated by the PROMES-CNRS laboratory (CNRS UPR 8521), affiliated with UPVD, and the experimental activities carried out at the Thémis solar tower in Targasonne (Pyrénées-Orientales, France). It introduces the innovative technology developed in the project, which uses fluidised particle systems to capture and store high-temperature solar heat for electricity generation and industrial applications.

The feature also highlights the broader impact of the project, including its potential contribution to Europe’s energy transition, its environmental benefits, and the socio-economic opportunities associated with the development of next-generation concentrating solar power (CSP) plants.
