We are thrilled to announce the release of the first edition of the Powder2Power project newsletter! This biannual newsletter provides insights into the latest developments, achievements, and upcoming events related to our groundbreaking MW-scale fluidized particle-driven CSP prototype.
Highlights from Our First Newsletter:
- Project Overview: Launched in October 2023, Powder2Power is a four-year collaborative initiative funded by the EU’s Horizon Europe program. Our mission is to demonstrate a cost-effective and efficient particle-driven CSP solution for power and industrial heat cogeneration, bringing this technology closer to commercialization.
- Recent Progress: Our teams are hard at work preparing the Themis solar tower in Targasonne, France, for the installation and testing of our particle-based CSP prototype. The project has also achieved a significant milestone with the design of an advanced electric heater prototype, improving control and heat transfer capabilities.
- Research and Events: Powder2Power’s innovative research was recently showcased at major conferences, including the ASME Turbo Expo 2024 and the ESRE 2024, highlighting the project’s advances in CSP technology and energy efficiency.
- Future Plans: We are excited about upcoming events, including the 2nd Consortium Meeting in Milan this October and our participation in SolarPACES 2024, where our partners will present key research findings.
